Time to Play

The goal of this project is to stress the rights of children in all their diversity,(regardless of age, gender, ability, and race), to access safe play spaces and to be protected from exploitation. In partnership with Terre des Hommes Netherlands, AfCiC is implementing the "Time to Play Project – Phase 2" to promote children's rights, focusing on ensuring that children have access to safe play spaces and are protected from exploitation, including Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (SEA) and Child Labor (CL).

One of the key components of this project involves empowering parents and caregivers to play a leading role in safeguarding children’s rights. To this end, 48 parents/caregivers will be trained as champions in promoting positive parenting, safe play, and the prevention of child exploitation and abuse. The training aims to equip 48 parents/caregivers champions with the knowledge and skills required to:

  • Promote child rights, positive parenting, and the importance of safe play.
  • Prevent and address child exploitation and abuse, particularly SEA and CL.
  • Support the monitoring and reporting of child exploitation and abuse cases within the target communities.
  • Mobilize communities around the issues of child rights, safe play, and child protection.
